MSA Ireland - Motorbikes and school equipment

SCHOOL BIKES

MSA are unusual, if not unique, in that we have our own "school bikes" suitable for the “A1” (under 125cc) and “A” (over 125cc) licences. This means that, in order to learn to ride you do not have to have your own machine. Also we have our own safe, secure off-road training base in Dublin, and similar areas at various locations throughout Ireland where you can learn machine control in complete safety before venturing out onto public roads. We can also loan basic safety gear: helmet, gloves and jacket. Note that all Basic instruction is on a 1:1 basis, you are not trained in a group and that we always use bike-to-bike radio for all on-road work.

Please note that we do not "hire out" bikes. Our school bikes can only be used when the rider is under to control of one of our instructors. If a school bike is needed in order to take the driving test the rider must have previously had a minimum of 5 hours training with MSA, have achieved a sufficient standard and must always be accompanied to and from the test by an MSA instructor.

BIKE-TO-BIKE RADIO
All MSA Instruction which takes place on public roads, as well as some levels of instruction at our training area uses bike-to-bike radio. This ensures that, at all times, the Instructor can guide and assist you. Using radio means, in practice, that the amount of training time required to reach a given level can be reduced by around 40%.
